simplescaler installation tutorial

Need to edit the simplescaler tutorial. There are a few corrections required in the simplescaler tutorial need to edit and post a new tutorial.

A new day

So i did the getting up early part today and since i am going for the class now so that is also done. Now the only thing to do today is the studying part. Have to study today after getting back from class. Lets see how that part goes now.

I also thought about the problem that we were having yesterday while installing simplescalar. Downloaded g++ last night, lets see if this removes the dependency problem. Also a note to myself regaring synaptic and apt. apt can download packages without installing them, that is done by using the -d flag. But the problem is that it does not download packages that are already present in the archives. Don't know if synaptic has an option of doing that. But we can use synaptic to select the packages required and then create a download script for it. From this script we can download the packages using wget. As for the simplescalar part will have to wait till lunch to see how it goes.

Work done

So today finally after 4 hours installed simplescalar on 4 systems. I did this thing so many times today that now i remember each and every step of installations and all the errors.

Point to note : On synaptic one can first select all the packages needed and then we can specify the path of the packages. Synaptic will install all the packages itself automatically resolving any dependecy issues
